Lokmanya Tilak Punyatithi Keshav Gangadhar Tilak was the first leader of Indian indepence movement. He was also known as Lokmanya Tilak that is accepted by the people. Lokmanya Tilak raised voice against British rule & started with public celebrations such as Shiv Jayanti & Ganeshotsav with a thought of bringing people together. He gave the quote,”Swaraj is my birthright & I shall have it.” He passed away on 1st August 1920. On his death anniversary (punyatithi), we remember him for his courage, devotion & contribution in India’s freedom struggle.
