Nag Panchmi

Nag Panchmi is celebrated on the fifth day of shukla paksha in the holy month of Shravan.
On this day we make the children aware that all snakes are not venomous instead they kill the rats and prevent the destruction of food crops, hence are beneficial for farmers as well. We should worship statues of snakes made of clay or metal rather than catching them and keeping them in a basket. On this day, teachers make clay snakes and mud anthills in the classroom. Then they worship clay snakes by offering flowers and naivedya.
